A single-cultivar matcha celebrated for its balance and depth, Okumidori is known for a rich umami base, gentle nuttiness, and a refined vegetal character. It offers satisfying complexity beginning with a soft, natural sweetness before unfolding into a deeper, greener profile with a structured finish.

Its name translates to Deep Green” reflecting both its vibrant colour and layered taste. Praised for its versatility, Okumidori brings depth and structure without overwhelming bitterness, making it a timeless choice for both traditional preparation and daily rituals.

Instructions

1. Sift 2–3 g (about 1 tsp) of matcha into a bowl

2. Add about 50ml of hot (max. 80°C) water

3. Whisk in a zig-zag motion using a bamboo whisk (chasen) until a fine foam forms on the surface

4. Enjoy as a traditional usucha on its own, or add your favourite warm milk to create a creamy matcha latte

5. Sip & Enjoy!

Storage

Matcha is highly sensitive to light, air, heat, and moisture. To preserve its flavour and vibrant colour, keep sealed and store in a cool dry place, away from moisture, sunlight and odors.

Unopened matcha can be stored in the refrigerator for longer periods, but allow the matcha to return to room temperature before opening to avoid condensation.

Shelf Life

Unopened matcha can be enjoyed up to the best before date indicated on the package however, the fresher it is consumed, the more vibrant its flavour and aroma.


Once opened, we recommend consuming it as quickly as possible ideally within 1–2 months to enjoy its full character at its freshest.
