This exclusive chasen (matcha whisk) is handcrafted in Takayama, a village in Japan known as the only place where traditional chasen are made. It is created by Suikaen, led by Yasaburo Tanimura, a 25th-generation chasen master. With over 500 years of history, the Tanimura family is among the last to preserve this craft, and Yasaburo-san is one of just 18 remaining chasen masters in the world.

Made from locally grown shichiku (purplish-black bamboo), the whisk is cured for two years and shaped entirely by hand, without heat or chemicals, allowing the bamboo’s natural beauty to shine through. The design features the classic shin(真) shape, known for its elegant curves and oval-tipped prongs, ideal for both formal tea ceremonies and everyday matcha preparation.

The Tanimura family completed each chasen with a touch of Ceremony Matcha’s signature pink thread, adding a unique and personal finishing detail. This chasen is part of a very limited edition
